📕 அகரவரிசை (alphabetical order) என்பது ஒரு மொழியில் உள்ள எழுத்துக்களை , அம்மொழியின் முறைப்படி , அடுக்கப்பட்ட எழுத்துக்களின் வரிசை ஆகும்.
📕 ஏறத்தாழ எல்லா மொழிகளிலுமே அகரம் முதல் எழுத்தாக இருப்பதால் , அகரம் தொடங்கி , எழுத்துகள் வரிசைப் படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.
📕 தனித்தனி எழுத்துக்களாக கோர்த்து சொற்கள் ஆக்கப்படும் மொழிகளுக்கு இவ்வரிசை அடிப்படையான ஒன்று.
📕 இதனைத் தமிழில் நெடுங்கணக்குஎன்று சொல்வர்.
📕 ஏதாவதொரு பணிக்காக சொற்களை வரிசைப்படுத்தும் பொழுது, அகரத்தில் தொடங்கும் சொற்களை முதலில் தொகுத்து, பின் அடுத்து வரும் எழுத்துக்களில் தொடங்கும் சொற்களை வரிசைப் படுத்துவர்.
📕 ஒவ்வொரு சொல்லின் முதல் எழுத்தைப்போலவே அடுத்து வரும் எழுத்துக்களும் , அகர வரிசைப்படி அமைக்கப்படும்.

தமிழின் அகர வரிசை அமைந்த முறை:
1️⃣ முதலில் 12 உயிரெழுத்துக்கள் கொண்ட வரிசை
2️⃣ தனி எழுத்தாகிய ஓர் ஆய்த எழுத்து
3️⃣ 18 மெய்யெழுத்துக்கள் கொண்ட வரிசை
4️⃣ உயிரோடு சேர்ந்த மெய்யெழுத்துக்களாகிய 216 உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துகள்.
📕 எனவே மொத்த எழுத்துகள் 247.

📕 ஆங்கில மொழியின் அகரவரிசையில், உயிரெழுத்துக்கள், மெய்யெழுத்துக்கள் என்று ஏதும் பிரிவில்லாமல் தொடராக எழுத்துகள் வரிசைப் படுத்தப்ப்படுகின்றன.
📕 இவற்றுள் A , E , I , O , U ஆகிய ஐந்து எழுத்துக்களும் , உயிர் எழுத்துகள் (Vowels) எனப்படும்.
